Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at abigail.moreno79@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

1. The "First Timer" Basics

  • "What should I expect during my first visit?"
    • Answer: You’ll start with a brief consultation to discuss your health history and goals (e.g., relaxation vs. pain relief). The therapist will then leave the room so you can undress to your comfort level and get onto the table under a clean sheet and blanket.
  • "Do I have to be completely undressed?"
    • Answer: Not at all. You should undress to your level of comfort. Many clients leave their underwear on, while others undress fully. Regardless of your choice, you will be professionally draped with a sheet at all times; only the area being worked on will be exposed.
  • "Do you reccomend a 60 minute or a 90 minute massage?"
    • Answer: Most sessions are 60 or 90 minutes. We recommend 60 minutes for targeted work and 90 minutes for a full-body experience that doesn't feel rushed.

2. Health, Safety & Comfort

  • "Is massage supposed to hurt?"
    • Answer: No. While "deep tissue" work may cause a "good hurt" sensation as tension releases, you should never feel sharp pain or the need to hold your breath. Communication is key—please tell your therapist to adjust the pressure at any time.
  • "Can I get a massage if I am pregnant?"
    • Answer: Yes, we offer specialized prenatal massages. However, for safety, we generally require clients to be in their second or third trimester. Always consult your doctor first if you have a high-risk pregnancy.
  • "Should I talk during the massage?"
    • Answer: It’s entirely up to you! If you want to chat, your therapist will follow your lead. If you prefer a "silent session" to fully relax, that is perfectly fine and very common.

3. Logistics & Policies

  • "What is your cancellation policy?"
    • Answer: We require 24 hours' notice for any cancellations or changes. This allows us to offer the time slot to other clients. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a fee.
  • "Should I tip my massage therapist?"
    • Answer: Tipping is never required but always appreciated for exceptional service. A standard tip in the wellness industry is 15–20%, similar to a high-end salon or restaurant.
  • "How often should I get a massage?"
    • Answer: For general maintenance and stress reduction, once a month is ideal. If you are treating a specific injury or chronic pain, your therapist may recommend a more frequent "treatment phase" of every 1–2 weeks.
